Every farm needs a few quiet places to pause.

We were so fortunate to be among the first to receive these commercial grade benches offered at a discounted price by the Stella Roberts Recycling Center. What a wonderful way to give these sturdy, well made benches a new home and a new purpose!

We can already picture them placed throughout Florista Farm beneath a shady tree, beside the flower beds or overlooking the bayou along the walkway. They will invite our visitors to slow down, rest their feet and simply enjoy the flowers, birds and peaceful rhythm of the farm. For our hardworking crew, they will be a welcome place to take a break, and recharge before returning to the fields.

These benches may have had a life before Florista Farm, but their next chapter will be filled with flowers, conversations, laughter and moments of rest.

A heartfelt thank you to the recycling team for making this possible. We are excited to give these benches a beautiful new home.

Summer is blooming beautifully at Florista! 

Our sunflowers are glowing after the initial setback from the June rains, market bouquets are bursting with Sunflowers , Celosia, Basil and every vase arrangement celebrates the season’s bounty. Mostly grown here on our farm, freshly harvested, and thoughtfully arranged from our fields to your home.

This is what summer at the flower farm looks like: abundant,  joyful, and full of both weeds & sunshine.

And just like that, another summer internship at Florista comes to a close.

What a fitting ending to a summer spent learning, building, growing and creating together.

Over the past few months, our interns have left their mark all around Florista. They cleaned and painted our garden archway, restored and stained trellises, dug drainage trenches, laid landscape fabric, moved mulch and logs, seeded and transplanted flowers, weeded and prepared beds, created pathways, learned our Wobbler irrigation system, harvested flowers, made bouquets, helped at the farm stand and tackled so many of the little jobs that together are helping us build the farm we dream of.

But our closing evening wasn't about work.

It was about celebrating them!

We were so proud to recognize our 2026 interns:

Atharv - Florista's Appreciation Award
Shlok - Florista's Rising Start Award
Archer - Florista's Legacy & Leadership Award
Lucia - Florista's Intern of The Year

As the evening settled over the farm, Shlok picked up his guitar and started playing. Before long, the kids were jamming along, families were talking and laughing, and s'mores were being made around the fire.

There were stories from the summer, proud parents, plenty of laughter and even a beautiful owl quietly watching us from a tree, causing everyone to wander over for a closer look.

There couldn't have been a more perfect way to end our summer.

Five years ago, our internship program began as a simple idea give young people a place to learn, work with their hands and experience what it takes to grow something from the ground up. Today, they aren't simply helping us build a flower farm. They are helping us build the dream of what Florista can become.

To our interns and their families, thank you for giving us your time, your energy and a piece of your summer.
