“Masquerade” opens tomorrow at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis. A biennial Garden Club of America Major Flower Show presented by the Memphis Garden Club, this show includes floral designs interpreting paintings from an exhibition of artist Mary Sims, beautiful horticultural specimens, creative botanical arts and a juried photography competition , submitted by GCA members from across the U.S. Kudos to the Memphis Garden Club for presenting this magnificent and inspiring show!

Kudos to all the talented floral designers who participated in “Deep in the Heart of Texas”, a Garden Club of America flower show presented on April 8 by River Oaks Garden Club. Staged at the Lorna Jean Kilroy Visitors and Education Center at Bayou Bend Collections and Gardens, the show included five floral design classes. Our ROGC and GCA guest designers explored the lore and landscapes of the great state of Texas in creative and distinctive ways. Botanical arts classes included hat bands, and brooches on Texas themes. Many thanks to all the designers who shared their time and talent for our “best little flower show in Texas.”

I rarely post personal photos on my professional instagram account, but in this case, my floral installation team for our son’s wedding deserves a shout out. I could not have done it without my original girl squad, my sisters Peggy, Marion and Anne. You girls rocked it, as you always do. As we like to say, if you want to get something done, call a Latham girl. 🌸❤️

Doing flowers for weddings is always a special experience, but when it is for your son and new daughter in law, it is extra special! ❤️🌸 And the bluebonnets at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin showed up just in time. Kudos to the staff , , my Houston design “dream team” Sharon and Maura , and my Mayesh support team , Jamie and Emmanuel for making this destination wedding a seamless installation!

Designing for the Azalea Trail is always challenging. But being asked to design in these exquisite hand made armatures made for Florescence 2023 by Hanneke Frankema , one of Europe’s top floral artists and winner of the 2022 Europe Cup, was daunting!

Looking back at a very fun wedding design challenge. This custom bridal gown was designed by with embroidered flowers trailing off the bodice. The bridal bouquet was designed to coordinate and enhance this fabulous and distinctive gown and integrates with the trailing embroidery seamlessly. What fun and unique touches will my next bride have at her wedding? Stay tuned. There’s a really special one coming up!
