Here’s a little designer trick: sometimes those wispy branches that look almost too wild are exactly what a fall wreath needs. They extend the eye beyond the wreath and give the finished design more movement and personality.

Do you like your fall wreaths wispy and wild or a little more contained?

There’s something about a Welcome Autumn sign that makes the front door officially feel ready for fall. This design mixes pumpkins, golden florals, plaid bows and wandering grapevine for a wreath that feels traditional without being too perfectly arranged.

And those twigs reaching beyond the wreath? Keep them. That little bit of wildness is part of what gives the design its personality.

What says “fall” to you first—pumpkins, plaid or changing leaves?

This is fall with a little drama. Rich rust sunflowers, trailing greenery and those long flowing ribbons give this wreath movement without hiding the grapevine underneath.

I especially love that it isn’t perfectly symmetrical—the open grapevine on one side makes all that color and texture on the other side stand out even more.

Would you hang this one for the entire fall season or save it for Thanksgiving?
