When I was 5, I used to make draperies out of toilet tissue for my sister's dollhouse, my father was horrified. I knew I was a Francophile and future decorator when I saw my first Architectural Digest in 1982. I ha

ve a wonderful friend in Brownsville, Texas, with the loveliest French-colonial home, who's now a young 87 who became in her words a "cowgirl" when she married a prominent Rancher. An Alabamian Great Lady, who taught me many details about "good taste" a "cowgirl" she is not. I was 19 at the time and she encouraged me to move to Houston from the Rio Grande Valley, the very tip of Texas, where I was never going to be exposed to things I would discover while traveling every place I could. My favorite cities being Paris, London and New Orleans. I have worked in so many styles, with many different personalities, that my work has been a true joy. To create for a client, and their family, their personal dream house can require the patience of an Ambassador, the ability to tell them what they may not want to hear and in the end sometimes after years of working closely together still remain friends. Speaking 3 Foreign languages has not only expanded my client base but my cultural vision and appreciation as well. I enjoy the hunt for fine antiques, Mid-Century furniture and studying about the Great English Country Houses and the French Chateaux that still survive intact. At the end of the day, if you're doing your own home whatever your budget may be, follow your instincts. What do You love the most? What are your colors? If you follow that you can't go wrong.
