This will be my 5th year at the WV pumpkin Festival! Mark your calendars October 1-4 I will have all kinds of different craft items, new buttons & bows, new signs made just for this event!
On October 1st, the West Virginia Pumpkin Festival gets underway as one of the state’s most iconic fall festivals! Giant pumpkins, rows of handmade crafts, live music, old-time demonstrations, family activities, and plenty of pumpkin treats fill West Virginia Pumpkin Park in Milton. One of the biggest sights is the giant pumpkin contest, while more than 120 juried arts and crafts vendors and over 150 commercial exhibits give visitors plenty to browse. Around the grounds, you can watch blacksmiths at work, see apple butter being made, stop by a quilting exhibit, watch chainsaw carving, explore a living history encampment, and find roasted corn, kettle corn, a petting zoo, pony rides, and a hay maze. Live performers and the Guyan River Cloggers add even more to the festival atmosphere.
Food is a big part of the day, with fair favorites and pumpkin-flavored sweets. You can often find locally famous pumpkin cheesecake here, along with other seasonal desserts and pumpkin treats. The 2026 festival runs October 1–4 at Pumpkin Park in Milton, between Huntington and Charleston. The event began in 1986 to help area farmers raise and sell pumpkins and has grown into one of West Virginia’s largest fall celebrations...always making for one of the most memorable events of the entire year here in WV!
