Today, we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America.
Two and a half centuries ago, a bold declaration changed the course of history. It established a nation founded on the enduring principles of liberty, individual responsibility, opportunity, and the belief that all people are created equal.
Those ideals have been tested, strengthened, and defended by generations of Americans—farmers and factory workers, teachers and tradesmen, entrepreneurs and innovators, first responders, and the brave men and women of our Armed Forces. Their hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering determination have built more than a country. They have built a legacy.
We are profoundly grateful to live in a nation where hard work is rewarded, dreams can become reality, and communities come together to build a brighter future.
