Title: Cleansing Growth
Medium: Graphite, charcoal, pastels, China marker and watercolor.
Regardless of how many times I choose to use my tree silhouette design, I will never get sick of it. Is this a milestone? I think it is, it feels like it.

When someone asks me what my favorite piece is, I always go back to my first reductive charcoal assignment. One of the things I took with me when I left home were prayer beads (subha), it was always a comfort to watch my father move the beads while reciting and I even watched my grandfather when I was quite little, just wondering what he was thinking so hard about. I believe it was the tradition and admiration for ones own family and faith that kept their dedication to these beads. It’s a memory that never leaves me ❤️
