You know I finish stuff and manage to get pictures, but don’t always get them shared here! I finished this quilt for a former coworker, who we also attended church with. I definitely enjoy laying it out and deciding where everything is going to go.

This post is a little different than what I normally post. Today (July 7) is my grandmas birthday. Or well it would have been her 89th birthday. My grandma and I had a great relationship. She supported me through so much in my life. She was the first person I made a quilt for. It also had the only thing I ever cross stitched (well finished).
I used a fat quarter pack from Joann’s, along with some of her shirts and my grandpas shirts.
It was made in 2000 and I didn’t know what I was doing AND my grandma used it a lot, so it started getting holes. So I patched those for her with some appliqué hearts (I don’t have pictures of it). I decided to make her a second quilt. I chose blues because her original quilt had blues and purple because it’s my favorite color.
I still have the heart quilt, but someone at the nursing home threw out my grandmas first quilt when she passed :(
I miss her a lot. But I’m so thankful for the memories we had.
