So the other day, I got asked to share some of my favorite books that have inspired me along the decades of learning. I would like to thank Granddaughter Crow Shamanism with Granddaughter Crow and Jenny C. Bell for asking me to do this. While some of the books then inspired me I don’t even have copies of whether they’ve fallen apart or I’ve gifted them away, but these are a few that were like core essentials in my journey as I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. And honestly, I can say that I’ve met a lot of the authors that I’m presenting here now to you and some that are even on here that aren’t on here that have inspired me such as Raymond Buckland and Starr Casas. Actually, Ted Andrews were the very first books that I got my hands on at 13 years old and Scott Cunningham “Living Wicca”, and then at 18 was when I really dove in with Laurie Cabot and Fiona Horne . And as I started growing and being pulled to my path more to Rootworking, Hoodoo, and the Vodou. And with the ATR you have to understand that a lot of it is an oral tradition so what books are nice and they give you information. Yet, it depends on each house, each worker and each Mambo and Hougan and the Lwa to your knowledge. And of course, I had to put my late godfather, Hoodoo Sen Moise in there. His knowledge in Conjure and in Haitian Vodou was immense. I could talk on and on about this and maybe I will start talking more about this. I honestly can say now my core has always been spirit and the ancestors. They led me to the books that I needed at the time to allow me to see my truth and to teach me as needed. I am extremely blessed to the elders of this community to the new authors that are coming out that still inspire me and even the students that I have had personally inspire and help me grow as much as I help them grow.
