Sitting here, on the couch, in the dark, reflecting on the little over 2 years the store was here on the Square. It is mostly packed up except for some pillows… tomorrow, the move out begins. Tuesday, she will belong to someone else.
This was my biggest project to date. I can’t say that it was easy. COVID hit right as we bought this place … along came a long deployment for us. There were literally tears, blood during construction phases, sweat when the ac went out in July before opening, sleepless nights riddled with anxiety over inventory, and nights that my back hurt so bad that I could barely walk.
The building will forever hold a special place in my heart. I love that building… far more than I should. I sincerely hope the new owners love her as much as I do.
I’m sad. For all the reasons above… but I have always wanted to have my own little shop… and I can say that I did… I have no regrets…
Time to lock up and go home…
Thank you to all who supported this store over the past couple of years.
The Shabby Stick is officially closed.
