Some fabrics you stumble across. Others stop you in your tracks.
“Namay Samay” means beyond sky and beyond earth — and once you see their work, the name makes sense. Founded in London, rooted in the weaving traditions of Bhutan and Bengal, this is an artisanal house that does everything in-house: weaving, printing, embroidery.
Look at these chick blinds. Hand-woven fabric, solid brass pulley system — nothing about this is retail. It’s craft at a level most people never get to see, because it lives in the design trade.
This is why I keep going back to the artisan houses. The difference isn’t in the photograph. It’s in the room, in the light, in the way a handmade thing holds the space.
