We officially added a new family to our roster this week. Their gorgeous custom home is already a year in the making and we are honored they brought us on board to help with all the pretty parts…paint, stain, lighting, tile, plumbing fixtures, etc. Stay tuned to see the journey ❤️ Also a huge thank you to every person that has ever shared their CBI experience, has given out my name, or liked or commented on my page. A little curb appeal goes a long way. Pay attention next time you pull up to your home, like really 👀 at it. Then make a list of things you can do to improve it. Some things are even free! Maybe you just need to rake the leaves, clean out the gutters, power wash the drive or wipe down the windows. Perhaps it’s time for a fresh coat of paint or a new door color? Or maybe you’re really nuts and you decide to buy a 1987 fixer upper that literally needs a new…EVERYTHING 🤪 The work is never done but that’s what keeps us young (and broke)

Lots of fun CBI originals to finish off our LOZ project. We tackled a long boring hallway with a fun stripe that feels very “lakey”. Bonus that it can be viewed from every room on the second floor! Huge thanks to Scott at the Osage Beach who was very helpful. We also spent a grand total of $60 on the entry fish art! We scored 4 matching prints at for $10 each, then glued on the adorable wooden fish from . We made semi-custom (no sew) drapes adding 12” of upholstery fabric to the top and trimming with leftover navy blue selvage from a project I did 5 years ago at Sardis Lake. I’m not a hoarder, I swear 😆 Another big shout out to my team who is always down for my crazy ideas. They are the best!

Deciding to wake up early or sleep in just got a little harder in the Lake of the Ozarks, where we whipped up one of our favorite CBI recipes! For this primary bedroom we used: 1/3 discounted retail, 1/3 wholesale vendors and 1/3 mix of Homegoods/Target/At Home. Apply a little DIY to the headboard and curtains. Then top it off with SW Cocoa Whip on the walls. It’s how we roll!

Doing the exterior decor of a house situated on a VERY steep hill was easy peasy (not lol). Thank goodness no one filmed us moving those pots down the hill because I would never come out of hiding 😂

This wall was so much fun to make. You can get as creative as you want. We had planned to add lots of cute embellishments on site, but once we got there we decided it was perfect the way it was. You could use this concept in SO many rooms. A sports themed room, lake/boating as we did here or even a castle type space. The options are endless!

Our Lake of the Ozark project wrapped up this week and our clients finally got to see the space. We took this home from straight off the market to 100% turnkey. We not only furnished every single room, we covered details like lining the kitchen cabinets, stocking toiletries and fire extinguishers. We washed all the new dishes and laundered all the bedding and towels…twice! We had a 16 page spreadsheet, 5 total roundtrips, 2 semis, 2 moving trucks, a 9 person team, plus a local handyman, electrician and plumber. Oh and we had a TON of cardboard! Tonight I share the main living space-complete with two queen size sleeper sofas and seating for 25! Did I mention I have the BEST team on the planet? Big shout out to Melissa, Kerry, Jody, Saige, Shane, Hunter, Blake and as always my husband (the most patient man on the planet) for helping get this project past the finish line. We worked our butts off!

This mudroom works extra hard and now it is looking good AND working hard! It’s the main entrance for guests. It’s the drop zone, the laundry room and houses the litter box. We did so many cool things in this space…from those floors, to the built in litter box with kitty door and motion sensor light 😍 to the designated hanging/folding area. We also added a small sink for filling water bowls. We saved money by wrapping the existing fridge and spray painting baskets. This is an entrance our clients will be proud of for years to come ❤️ Backwoods Caninets
