What it takes to make a piece.
It isn’t just cut and paint!
Trace the piece out
cut the piece (I use a jigsaw)
1 layer of primer on each side (1 week to cure)
3 layers of paint on each side (4 hours before another layer, 2 weeks to cure)
3 layers of UV protecting varnish on each side (24 hours before another layer, 1 week to cure)
This doesn’t include time to buy materials, clean up between each process, or delivery.
I truly thought this was going to be easy. It is way tougher than it looks but I do enjoy everything but the painting (of the nativities, I love painting the designed pieces)

Been a while since I have done much woodworking or posting. I have been focused on my mental health. However I have been painting on the nativities. The photos are not much to see as it is white on white. The paint is curing on the small nativities before I can varnish them.
Today I primed the first ornament. It will eventually be a “silent night” design. Darker sky scape with blacked out nativity and wise men coming on their camels.
I am really looking forward to this one.
