This install could have been absolutely perfect, but people make mistakes. So we're going to call this one "Lemonade". This particular location had some working drawings in question that I brought up for review multiple times. We had the approval to place the order for shades, against working drawings. Halfway through our install, the site super requested we take every shade down we just installed because the windows did indeed call for decorative casing. Sigh.... So we took everything down, loaded it up, and headed back to Knoxville.
At my workroom, we cut down shades to fit within casing, sealed the bottom hem bars, and prepped for another installation. This set me back 2 days on a previously scheduled work week, so it was a bit stressful. Six days later, and we are back in Kingsport ready to get these installed. When we arrive, we find that the drive-thru windows have changed and the front entry doors have changed, all which have shades! We were able to retrofit most of our shades. The drive-thru though, I have two that are just too skinny, but are staying. Window coverings are my thing, so obviously anytime there are window treatments up I am taking a look at how they are installed and how they fit within the frame. I have seen some sloppy work and skinny shades in my day, and it always gets me. Maybe now I have a bit of a better understanding.... I did not want to leave those skinny shades, but it is what it is. So, do I want to advertise that we will clear up a debacle? Not really, that is a lot of headache. BUT we work to find solutions to get the job done in a professional and timely manner. That is the real takeaway. We had a big ole' bowl of lemons, 16 in fact.. and now we are sipping on some lemonade. Also, here is a cute puppy.
