I am stepping out of my comfort zone a bit. I usually don’t like my picture being taken, but I had some requests to model the purse I just made to show the size. I made it as the pattern called for. I like the smaller size because I don’t carry much in a purse anymore. Just my phone and keys. It can be made larger by just adding rows. I love it and having my picture made wasn’t that bad either.

I hope you guys are having a nice afternoon! I wanted to show you and give you an idea for a birdbath you can make with things around the house. I had a large pot that I used last year on my patio. I decided not to use it this year. Instead of throwing it away, I turned it upside down and placed a round saucer on the top and filled it with water. The big heart rock is special to me. Chad, my son, found it on a camping trip years ago and brought it home. That rock has lived every place we have lived since then. The little birds are loving it!

The Origami Star Stitch purse is finished! It’s the perfect size for your phone, keys and lipstick. I added the snap to give it a more polished look. I can’t wait to carry it. Let me know if you would like one too! If you would like yours lined, I can do that also! It’s made from 3mm nylon cord, so it will be sturdy.

I’m almost finished with this purse. Just have to attach the shoulder strap and a snap for closure.

I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and crochet a purse. I couldn’t find one I liked in the store, so I found a pattern. It’s made from 3mm cord so it is strong enough to carry the essentials. When finished it will look like the picture on the right. Please feel free to browse my page. I have a basket of unfinished projects beside my chair in my craft room. I decided to go through it and begin the process of finishing them. I finished the one on the left called Granny Square Shrug. The stuff in the basket consists of a bohemian poncho, an afghan made from leftover yarn scraps, a knitted shrug and 2 or 3 other things down in there. When I looked at them I realized I didn’t have a lot left to finish on any of them. But, sometimes it’s ok to stop on something and then go back to it. It’s then that you realize the newness in something you started and then work on it from a different perspective.
