Juneteenth became a state holiday in Texas in 1980, and a number of other states subsequently followed suit
~

In 1863, during the American Civil War, Pres. Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared more than three million slaves living in the Confederate states to be free. More than two years would pass, however, before the news reached African Americans living in Texas. It was not until Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, that the state’s residents finally learned that slavery had been abolished. The former slaves immediately began to celebrate with prayer, feasting, song, and dance. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻 we all have something to be proud of today!

This was so much fun!

I got a little help from my bonus dad and of course my mom was in the background.

I Love how they support me in my journey building my business from Being my storage to allowing me to paint in their backyard.

It’s never a dull moment and as usual there were a lot of laughs.. I learned what BC stood for (butt crack)😂🤣 and of course I was running from random bugs. Me & bugs do not get along luckily that part goes pretty fast so you don’t get to see me freaking out and running 🤣 😂🤣
