I’ve been very pleased with my 6 months as a vendor at The Market Hub. Thrifted and gifted clothing and fabric reimagined into boho style tee ponchos, denim aprons & bags. Sustainable fashion- Fun to wear.
If you have a hobby that you love, but everyone you know already has one (or more) of your creations, here’s a way to make a little extra money and keep on creating.

Most people see Market Hub and Market Hub Bakery & Kitchen as stores and a kitchen.

On the surface, that's exactly what they are and yet they may just be a potential missing piece in many small businesses.

There is no shortage of talented people creating wonderful things. Bakers, makers, growers, artists, and entrepreneurs can be found all over our community.

The challenge is often not talent but what exists between creating something and finding a sustainable way to share it with others, that pathway to the next step.

Not everyone is trying to build a large business. Sometimes people are simply looking for an opportunity to support themselves better.

A way to earn a little extra income to cover a bill or life change. A place to see if an idea could be more.
A chance to move beyond the kitchen table, the hobby room, or the dream that never quite got started.

When opportunities become accessible, something shifts. Not just money. Possibilty, experiences, confidence and relationships. The fear of taking the next step begins to lessen when they know they don't have to take it alone.

That is what the farmers market, the stores, and the kitchen represent for us. Not simply places to buy and sell....

But pathways.

And sometimes a pathway is one of the most important missing pieces of all.

I made one of these a few months ago for our house. We use it daily.
Heavy denim, a layer of a water resist material, cotton batting, and terry cloth. All thrifted fabric (except the water resistant layer), reimagined into a handy Floor Turtle.
Our dog tends to drool when we are eating anything. It's a handy and fun item if you have pups.

Ok these are just an incredible re-imagined use.

From the doggies water bowl trail to those mysterious ice cubes that you eventually find, to the water that notoriously escapes the sink when doing dishes. With a terry cloth bottom and water absorption layer....plus so darn cute.....Ingenious!

I have tee ponchos available at The Market Hub One of a kind. One size fits many. Fun for the dance floor.
New product just in…Floor turtles. Denim and terry cloth. A convenient way to mop up spills a dog 🤤.
Items from Imagine this are thrifted and gifted fabric and embellishments - reimagined into useful and unique items.

Thinking it through and looking for better ways to engage with and support our community, we’ve been reflecting on one big challenge… a large part of our community simply can’t shop with us during our current hours.

Even being open until 6 PM some days still doesn’t work for many people. Add in the summer heat, afternoon storms, and the slower customer flow during certain hours, it can make for some very long days for a small business owner.

So this summer we’re going to experiment a little.

Starting in June....On Tuesdays and Thursdays, The Market Hub will be open from 9 AM–1 PM, then reopen from 5 PM–8 PM.

Our hope is that this creates more opportunities for working families, evening shoppers, and the community to stop in, connect, and support local vendors in a more comfortable and accessible way.

This is part of what small business is about, adapting, listening, and finding sustainable ways to serve both the community and the people behind the scenes. And who knows if you all support this enough maybe other downtown shops and will join in 😉

We’re excited to see what comes from it ❤️

So Come See Us 203 N Main Ave (the old Southridge Title office-Between ReMax and Lake Placid Cyclery)
Starting in June Hours
Mondays 10-4

I recently found an all cotton, made in the UK, daffodil print, length of fabric from an estate sale and a pack of precut quilt squares in yellows and greens that I thrifted a few months ago. They sewed up into a couple of cute (but not too cute) aprons for young cooks. The 2nd apron is an all over print with a pocket that blends in. Can you see it?
Now at The Market Hub
Oh yes, there's one for adults using this print & denim.
Sustainable fashion - Fun to wear
