My name is Ruby, and I am the founder of Rituals & Remedies, a sacred space devoted to ancestral healing, spiritual guidance, and remembering who we are beneath the noise of everyday life.

My journey into this work didn’t begin with a business, it began with my family, me being nosey , my ancestors, and a deep desire to understand where I came from.

As an African American woman with roots connected to the rich spiritual traditions of the African diaspora & New Orleans, I’ve spent years reconnecting with ancestral wisdom that was often hidden, forgotten, or lost through generations. What started as a personal healing journey after my father passing, then became a calling to help others reconnect with themselves, their lineage, and the sacred wisdom that lives within them.

Today, I blend traditional spiritual practices, intuitive guidance, energy healing, and ancestral reverence to create experiences that are both grounding and transformative.

This Black History Month feels different for me.

I’ve been feeling my ancestors louder.
In my dreams.
In my prayers.
In the quiet moments when I light a candle and just sit.

Standing in places like Congo Square. Visiting the Beauregard House. Walking through cemeteries that hold both pain and power… it reminded me that what we’ve been taught to fear: the spiritual, the ancestral, the unseen, is often just the threshold back to our people.

Our history is not just trauma.
It’s brilliance.
It’s business owners.
It’s market women.
It’s altar keepers.
It’s survivors who turned survival into legacy.

So I created this free mini course.

Not because I have all the answers.
But because I’m committed to asking better questions.
To remembering.
To honoring.
To rebuilding what was interrupted.

This is the first of many courses I’ll be creating and I’m so excited I could cry 😭🤎

Unity makes us harder to erase.

If we remain separated, our freedoms will continue to be taken quietly and strategically. What’s happening right now is a reminder that no one is untouched when freedom is threatened.

This isn’t about panic. It’s about remembrance.
Learning from those who have survived this before.
Building community instead of isolation.
Choosing clarity over comfort.

Our ancestors warned us what happens when we stand alone. What survives, what has always survived, is community.
