Thanksgiving is coming! Slice your ham and turkey like nobody's business with this MCM Hamilton Beach Electric Knife. Works like a charm! Y'all.

We need your help.

Please.

We don't like asking for it, because that's just how we're built. I bet a lot of people who live in Landrum and the upstate SC/NC area can relate to that feeling. It's not something that comes easy for us.

But... we just got a 1 star review on Google.

It's not one of those "fake reviews" that ends up being a funny Facebook post. I've seen several of those lately. This review was real (a screenshot of it is included in comments below), and it hurts.

It hurts on several levels. Google reviews can help make or break a business. People use Google to find out about stores. Reputation is paramount, and we work hard on ours. We love all of our customers. We want you all to enjoy our store, even if you don't buy anything. And, yeah, we *do* want you to find something that just calls to you, and make a purchase. But we'd just as soon see you come in and simply enjoy talking with us, have fun playing with our working phones, dance to any of the vinyl we're playing, or leave a haiku on one of our typewriters... leaving empty handed. We want your visit with us to be memorable... in a good way!

We'd like to think the review was a mistake... that someone thought they were in our store when they were really somewhere else. Or that it's just a mean-spirited person who just randomly found a store and dropped a bad review on it. Or that it was my ex being cranky as usual and signing in as someone else to do it.

Maybe it was one of those. Maybe not. We've reached out to them to try and find out. We'd love to find out more and rectify the situation.

In the meantime... we really could use your help. As I said, Google reviews can help make or break a business. and we don't have many reviews, so this 1 star really sticks out.

Could we possibly talk you into leaving your own review of us on Google? Help push that negative one down to the bottom? Or let people know what your thoughts are on that 1 star review... that (hopefully) you think those people were just having a bad day or something? I dunno... we just would love some reassurance that we're doing the right things at Mother Clutter.
