Bubba and Stubby Ceramics Unique Hand built Ceramics Hello and welcome! My name is Melanie. I started Bubba and Stubby Ceramics in 2021. Bubba was my Jack Russel terrier’s nickname.

His actual name was Trigger. Stubby is my son’s nickname. He is 6 ft 4 in tall. I grew up in Southern California with nature all around me, the beach, and mountains. Every summer I spent time at my grandparents 160-acre animal sanctuary near Yosemite. I was always outside exploring and discovering wildlife. My Grandparents love of animals and nature inspired my love of nature and animals and, as a

ceramic artist, I have enjoyed expressing my love by creating unique nature-animal-themed sculptures. When I am working and creating with clay, I feel joy. The worries of the day just disappear. I hope that my work can bring joy to others too. When not playing with my dogs, keeping aquariums, gardening, or socializing with friends in the Ceramics center, I am in my home studio which my husband designed and built, hand building (meaning never made with a mold) custom pieces.
