Happy warm humid Wednesday! Before today's early afternoon downpour, this thrifted piece got updated from a 1980's orange oak to this pretty off white called Limestone, along with some new hardware. There are gold towel bars on each side, and this one is HEAVY solid wood. It would be a nice piece for a kitchen, dining room, bathroom, bedroom, just about anywhere, and would mix with traditional or modern decor. My assistant decided we should move operations inside because of the weather, but seems to have taken the afternoon off...
This piece will be going with us to Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days, the third weekend in August.

Good Tuesday morning! This table was yesterday's rainy day painting project. Since my sander has been on a roll lately, I decided to go with another wood top with dark wax. This pretty green color is called Carriage House, and it mixes well with so many other colors. These pieces will be going with us to Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days, the third weekend of August. Happy Wednesday! Today's project was this writing desk that I bought last summer at the Sister's of St Francis sale . All of the pieces for sale came from Assisi Heights or the convent at St Marys. It's handmade and in great shape, with just a few scratches and a stain from spilled ink in the drawer. I sanded the top and drawer and gave them a couple of coats of dark wax, painted the legs in a pretty color called Elmwood, and gave the drawer a new k**b that pulled it all together. It will be going with us to Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days in August. Enjoy this beautiful weather and have a great evening!

Good Tuesday morning! This little side table got finished last night. Like the last one, this one also took lots of sanding and a few coats of dark wax to bring out the beautiful wood. The ironstone pitcher would have been part of a bedroom set from the late 1800s-early 1900s. They'll be going with us to Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days in August. Happy Friday! What a gorgeous day we've had today. After lots and lots (and lots) of sanding, I was able to finish this pretty little garage sale side table. It would be great beside a chair or as a plant stand. The top is sealed natural wood, and the legs are painted in a color called Carriage House that blends well with blues or greens. The little green cabinet was a thrift store find with a way too dark stain. It would be great to hold spices, small dishes or bathroom supplies. I had to include a picture of my beautiful Japanese Irises that came from a work friends garden party many years ago. Thank you Sandy Sandy! I still enjoy them every year! Enjoy the summery weather, and have a great weekend!

Happy warm Wednesday! After a busy morning at the Quarry Hill Nature Center with my daughter and the Littles, I still managed to get this garage sale bench painted. The cushions are covered with a quilt I thrifted last week, and it will be going with us to Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush Days . I had to stage it in front of my rose bush that's going crazy this year. It comes from a slip given to me by my sister in law, Gwen Mahr. The original bush belonged to their mom, Janice Shaffer.♥️ The other little cabinet was also a garage sale find. It's a humidor where a gentleman would have kept his ci**rs. The previous owner used it to hold a plant, but I added the transferware plate in place of an ashtray. Stay cool, and have a great evening!
