Nobody prepares you to stage your own home for sale!
I’ve had the honor of working with many clients since we moved to PA seven years ago, and not one of these jobs has prepared me for saying goodbye to the beautiful place we were blessed to call home.
I remember the first day that my daughter went to school and my husband went to work. It was a very rainy day in “Pennsylrainia”, as we would come to lovingly call it, and I was setting up our daughter’s room all alone wondering what we had done. We had moved half way across America, where we didn’t know a single person, and had started a life. We moved here with a 1st grade kid and will be leaving with a high school woman.
Time passed so quickly!
She has traded American Girl dolls for hair products and moisturizer. The room I set up for her that day would soon show us the amazement of PA fireflies, as the swell outside her room fills up with them in late spring. They are a sight to behold!
We lovingly brought pieces of a redbud tree (Oklahoma’s state tree) from our home in Oklahoma and planted it on the corner of the driveway, along with a piece from my mother-in-laws house and my husbands grandmothers house. The three trees all grew together and created something special. It’s all bloomed out now and so pretty, always reminding us of our roots.
Our back deck is the perfect place to hear the Cedar Crest band practice all summer, one of our favorite sounds. And you can practically hear the score for the football games in fall.
We all moved here and somehow made a life that we have loved. We’ve had some of the most epic hikes of our life here, made a point to track those white snow geese every winter, tried our best to adventure all around the state…even risking our toes to frostbite waiting on that groundhog to give us his prediction…we joined a church that quickly gave us a beautiful “family” to rely on, moved into a neighborhood with the kind of people that bring you a meal your first night...before you even have a fridge, watch your dog so you can go home for the holidays and lend you absolutely anything you need in a “what’s mine is yours fashion!”
We had many a snowy day where our drive was snow-blown before we even made it outside. We’ve made friends who have helped us forget how far our family really is, because they brought us in like their own. Lebanon, PA is pretty special! Thanks for taking us in and trusting me in your homes! 💕 It has been my pleasure!
So if you happen to know someone or if you are looking for a great home yourself…may I suggest you move into ours. Great neighborhood is a bonus! Listing link is in the comments.
