I enjoy the act of personification. Finding things in nature that seem to behave as if they are human, or seemingly "doing" human acts. I call this find "The Bow" What do you see?

I like to slap myself on the back when someone buys No. 1 in an edition (I know, it's childish). Thank you Kent from Deerfield Beach, FL for purchasing Autumn Russets !

"Aftermath" -- along the coast in S. Carolina (the Low Country) you can find Atlantic beaches that have been left to nature. I much prefer them this way.

Photographers have an opportunity unknown to other visual artists. We have original records of every one of our creations- for me that means binders and binders of original negatives, and even a few shoeboxes of prints made but never distributed. This is one from my "shoebox." - Poconos Swimming Hole, taken during a trip to the Poconos years ago, printed once in silver gelatin, framed and hung on my wall, and then kept to myself. Glad I found it again, time to share.

Glade Creek Grist Mill Under Autumn Moonlight

One of the reasons I began shooting with color film back in 2010 was to capture the wonderful colors of autumn. I think I've worked my way through that compulsion (not to say I'm finished by any means). But autumn also has a way of turning otherwise ordinary monochromatic scenes into lively tones and shapes on the landscape. This is a good example: a low light scene in which the bright autumn colors were reflecting every bit of moonlight around and into my camera.

Bright autumn colors reflect the smallest amount of light across the landscape, and show us things under moonlight that we might not see otherwise.

Cooler neighboring pines seem to magnify the blazing colors of this beautiful autumn oak.

Autumn Canopy at Mabry Mill

Taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway during Autumn is an annual event for thousands of people. It's no wonder. Hope you can get out this year and enjoy the most colorful season of them all.

From my https://rebrand.ly/The-Quiet-of-Appalachia collection.

Autumn colors at Mabry's Mill mark the end of the grinding season on the Virginia Piedmont.

Opening Hours, Philadelphia

When I walk around our big cities, I'm always searching for nostalgic remnants of its past: Before the pristine, glitzy skyscrapers of glass and concrete.

This old garage in Philadelphia's historic district recently caught my eye. First it was the confusing 3-tiered door within the door, but then my eye wandered to the decorative shamrocks on the lintel, then the large dark circular vent opening, and finally the small arched window on the far right. It all seemed to be held together by the bare-bulb security light over the garage door. I walked away thinking "no way modern skyscrapers could compete with that!"
