‼️ EMERGENCY - HELP NEEDED! ‼️

Great Plains SPCA currently has NO POWER at the shelter, with 150 animals onsite. The electric company is estimating potentially 2 days to fix the issue, and we are CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC while we care for our animals. We desperately need our communities help to lend, donate or purchase a few key items for the shelter.

⭕️ Battery Operated Fans
⭕️ Battery Operated Lights (standalone or flashlights)
⭕️ Towels & Sheets (we can't use the washers)
⭕️ Dry Ice
⭕️ Coolers with Ice

All items can be dropped off onsite, we will have staff there that will assist in distributing supplies to where they are needed.

BarQ After Dark- Eve….

Not a creature was stiring. Not even a guest. Well… except our event planners because they don’t rest. 🤣

We cannot wait to see all of our supporters tomorrow for our ninth annual gala. This event is a big part of why we can say “YES!!” to homeless animals who need us. Can’t attend? Please consider bidding on a silent auction item or donating to our Fund-A- Need.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone that shared last night and today. An incredibly kind couple reached out, spoke with the family and will be meeting Zeus’ owners next week. Thank you to everyone that commented and shared. I wasn’t sure we were going to find help and it looks like I may have been wrong! ❤️



One of our dearest , - an 8 year old gorgeous German Shepherd, is starting radiation treatments 5x week at the MU Veterinary Health Center in Columbia, MO next week.

The family (the dad & dog only), is in need of a reasonable and temporary place to stay starting next week through June. They originally thought they had an RV lined up but they no longer do.

Do we know anyone with property in Columbia, MO they are leasing or a RV for rent as early as next week through June? A summer sublease if affordable May even work?

Dad will temporarily live in Columbia, MO, he can work remote but their dog needs to be at the vet hospital in the AM for treatments so a two hour daily drive in and out from KC won’t work with conference calls etc. Boonville would likely work as well.

Very responsible, mature professionals that have been a part of our since 2016 and have become great friends. They are trying to avoid a full month of hotel rates as they are incurring plenty of other expenses with appointments and treatments. The location would obviously need to be pet friendly - only one dog (he’s wonderful) and he will be going through treatments on his paw so he shouldn’t be overly active during their stay.

Our PETEY’S Admin office is closed May 16th -19th. We will be reviewing requests on Monday and Friday this coming week to help balance the days we are closed. Please submit your summer requests asap, weekends are filling up quickly! 🐾❤️🐾

We haven’t shared much about Mark’s journey to protect his privacy and don’t anticipate doing so. He did message this afternoon that he’s eager to share an update with everyone after tomorrow’s oncology appointment.
