The biggest deck project this summer is all finished!
This project consisted of the entire tear down and rebuild of a deck. And being the old deck was 30+ years old, the makeover was definitely needed. Due to the design staying the same, no permit was needed.
Framing took the longest on this one. Everything needed to be perfect for the composite decking to go down with borders on the stairs, upper deck, and lower platform. For this deck we used Trex Toasted Sand as the dark border and Honey Grove as the fill. Both colors work great with each other and have great contrast.
A cool bonus to this deck is the storage unit underneath the lower platform. This was not originally planned but when we figured out a wheel barrow fit perfectly, we decided to move forward with the idea. The doors were also designed with the rest of the enclosure to blend in as best as possible.
After a month and a half of mostly hot days the deck was completed. Included are pictures of before and progress pictures.
In need of a new deck? Nows the time to start planning for early next spring. Reach out and let’s get it planned!
