Hello- It has been a hot minute, so I thought it as a good time to get back to the beginning:

Hi, I’m Colleen — the creator behind Chromatic Creations

What started as a hobby has turned into a business adventure… or at least *an* adventure. I began with paper mobiles, and somewhere along the way it grew into crochet support stuffies and all things crochet, hand forged jewelry and resin.

In true ADHD style, I got a new toy this winter— and now I am playing with different products like coasters, magnets, keychains, and even dipping into 3D-printed fidget items. But don’t worry, the originals are still here: Emotional Support Pickles, Happy Capys, Positivity Potatoes, square stacking rings and of course, stress balls.

I’ve been a little quiet lately, and it felt like the right time to reintroduce myself. This past year has been… a lot. I lost my mom unexpectedly in October, and between navigating all that, working, spending time with my family, time just flew by.

Because of that, our current political climate and life in general, I’ll be taking things a bit slower with markets for now (May 9 at Bolton Spring Farm is the first one so far)— but you can still find my work in stores. Let me know if you have seen me and/or what products you want to see in store:

Some days it feels like Chromatic Creations… other days, maybe it’s more like The Tinker’s Cart or even Chaotic Creations — but either way, I’m still here, still creating,

At the heart of it all, my goal is simple — to create things that make you feel good and bring a smile to your face.

I usually try and focus on the positive, but this year has been rough. Really rough. After a trying 2024. I'm exhausted.
So, I felt I needed to make Dammit dolls.
Because punching people and breaking things isn't really ok.
More colors coming soon.

Wowza! Thank you to all who came out and made today amazing.
Between purchases made today at the Women's Day Market in Altruist Brewing Company and online orders, I was able to donate $155 to Alliance for Justice

We may be small, but we are mighty.

One person alone may feel powerless, but together, we are a force that cannot be ignored. Injustice thrives when people feel ineffective—but when we unite, we become unstoppable.

It’s not about how much one person can do—it’s about what we can accomplish together.

Did you know, one of the best ways to fight monopolizing vendors (ahem, Am....) and help your own community is to support small businesses? When you choose to invest in small businesses, that money goes right back into your community when we send our kids to dance lessons, enroll them in local soccer. Be able to put a face with a name and see who is making these items.

Did you know I am a mom of 3 with a love of everything outdoors. Spent 10 days this past summer visiting 6 National Parks and was able to check off my bucket listen item of watching the sunrise over the Arches. I've also huddled on top of Cadillac Mountain to see the first light. I am always cold. I hate the beach and will take a mountain any day. I can't sitting still and started crocheting to keep my hands busy all the time. Sunrises and sunsets are my happy places

That said, Saturday March 8, Altruist Brewing Company is hosting a spring shop and sip 12-4.

Come say hi. Meet the maker. This is the first event I will have my Trumpster Fire De-stress balls, where HALF of the price you pay will go to Alliance for Justice (more than half the more I sell.)

In the past few years, I have had friends and other vendors message me with the notion that another maker, in this area, have changed medium and seems to be copying the same product line as I produce.

Yes this has happened more than once, and each time it was a different friend who brought it to my attention and a different maker.

Listen, I have no right to tell anyone what to make. I'm not here to bash someone else's business or act like people have no business making the same items. .

I just want to make it clear, that if anyone ever feels I've stepped into their lane of making, please know it was unintentional and LET ME KNOW!

We are all trying our best, and it sucks to feel powerless as you see someone else take ideas that you have tried, tested, screwed up and settled on thru trial and error and run with it. But also, it could be an absolutely innocent qawinky d**k. But I know , I would want to know.

So there, that's my rant. I will now return your regularly scheduled programming of stuffies, earrings and cat pictures. 😜🐱🥒🍄🌟

Jamie- you are freaking adorable and genius

Okay, so hear me out! I dislike the winter when I have to go outside and shovel or be cold! I can't be the only one either!!!!

So these "thneeds," as I call them, game changer! It is a scarf, hat, balaclava mask all in one. It has flaps that go inside the coat before you zip it up so there is no wind gust getting under there! It is a cold weather life changer. I also wear mine inside. You'll see me with it on often at work.

We have more storms heading our way and we are open tomorrow with 3 more of these IN STOCK at the shop!

They are a MUST HAVE! Come get one!
