I had a bad feeling each time I bought my seed orders and dahlias last winter, getting everything ready for the spring.

I wondered what that feeling really meant. Because I knew, and still know, that the flower farm is the right track for me.

Then came a 100-year flood. 🤯

It wiped out the property. And with it, all those plans, preparations, and the investment I had made for the whole season.

The feeling wasn’t telling me I was on the wrong path.
It was telling me I was in the wrong place.
This has not slowed me down in the slightest.

If anything, it has made me more determined to rebuild, rethink, and find new possibilities. I always recreate even better, and I will with this.

Sometimes moving forward means thinking outside the box, changing the plan, and finding a new way to grow. 🌱 Thank you for rooting for me and my garden. I will miss my Tates Creek folks but I’m only 3 miles down the road now!

8 weeks ago I planted replacement dahlia tubers thanks to a very, generous and kind soul who donated extras. The comfort that brought me in such a financial loss from the Richmond flood lifted my spirits in a heavy season! 💗 8 weeks later and we have buds and the first blooms! 🌱 (Pictured current and before at planting) Before I know it they will all be blooming!

Well in case you were wondering how you take down a field of flowers to move - you just do it, one row at a time! This entire field was dirt rows and flowers, just two months ago 😳

I stopped weeding after the flood and the grass started filling back in. Amazing, really.

The replacement dahlias are still on track to bloom, buds are appearing! 🤩

I have 4 new favorite celosias in the garden this year and this hot pink is☝🏻of them. Definitely saving seed!

Sharing some good news, although bittersweet! I’m moving away from the flood zone and this busy corner of town. It will be a lot better for me, and safer for my furbabies 🏠 💛

To prepare - Two things happening this Saturday!

🌸 U-Cut Flowers! 🌸$10 per flower cup. 9:30am-10:30am.

The flowers are getting CUT DOWN so come enjoy the LAST Summer blooms!

🌱 Weeding Party 8:30-10:30am, and in the evening 7pm. I’m weeding so I can plant grass seed and put the garden back to lawn.

Message if you want to come out! Or honk in support as you drive by. I may miss the honking at the new place 😆
