This beautiful antique needlework depicts two game birds surrounded by blue pottery, strawberries, oranges and abundant foliage, all worked in a combination of traditional needlepoint and wonderfully detailed petit point.

And the colors! The blues, warm fruit tones and all that glorious pink. The custom finish on the solid-wood frame brings out its Country French character and sets the needlework off beautifully.

It has a couple of small bare spots, as one might expect with an antique textile, but remarkably little wear considering its age.

Sourced in the Texas Hill Country.

16½” tall × 23” wide × 1” deep

Shown in high and low light

Beautiful antique condition with remarkably little wear considering its age. The needlework has a couple of small bare spots, which are to be expected in an antique textile and do not detract from its overall beauty or presentation. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of the description.

$342 INCLUDES INSURED SHIPPING in the continental US.

Local pickup is also available from our showroom of antique and vintage home and garden décor in Liberty Hill, Texas, just outside Austin.

A collected home and garden doesn’t begin with knowing exactly where everything will go… it begins with loving something enough to bring it home. 💙

The old urn. The slightly-too-large painting. The garden statue you absolutely did not need. The chair that makes your heart skip a beat.

You figure out where it goes later. And somehow, those are usually the pieces that make a home feel the most like you.

Buy what you love. Collect slowly. Let your home and garden tell your story. ✨

Every good library needs a Staffordshire Shakespeare bust… every.single.one😁

Antique books, library tables, old portraits, classical busts—library-inspired décor is having a moment, but I would argue it never really went out of style. These are the pieces that give a room history, character, and that wonderfully layered feeling of a home collected over time.

This Staffordshire bust of William Shakespeare fits the look beautifully, from his hand-painted face and rich red cloak to the marbled base and the old “SHAKSPERE” spelling impressed across the back. Perched on a stack of antique books, he brings just the right amount of literary charm—and perhaps a little drama—to the room.

Because the best libraries hold more than books. They hold stories in every piece.

It measures 8.5” tall x 5.75” wide x 3.25” deep with age consistent wear.

$197 INCLUDES INSURED SHIPPING in the continental US.

🩷Vintage and antique items have some wear associated with years of age and use, adding to their overall charm. Please see all the pictures, which are considered part of the description.

Now, this particular Paddington is from the 1990s—which is past my childhood era…I’m a child of the ’70s and ’80s, thank you very much. 😂
But the magic of the Sears Christmas catalog crosses generations.

Before online shopping and “add to cart,” there was the Sears catalog—and a pen for circling everything you were absolutely certain Santa needed to bring. This vintage Paddington, sitting so properly in his little chair and dressed in his festive red and green, brings all that wonderful nostalgia rushing back.

What did you always circle in the Sears Christmas catalog?

Ummm… how much detail are we looking for here? 😂🥤

Because there’s the quick answer… and then there’s the itemized, estate-sale-by-estate-sale answer—and those are two very different conversations.

Either way, I’m going to need a large McDonald’s Diet Coke before we proceed.

And in my defense, I didn’t spend it.
I converted it into antiques. 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has had some version of this conversation.

RALPH LAUREN knew exactly what he was doing with blue & white. 💙🤍

This fabulous vintage Ralph Lauren lamp takes the timeless ginger jar silhouette and gives it that unmistakable collected, layered look. Blue and white chinoiserie florals, a classic wood base, and enough presence to make an entire corner of a room feel finished.

It’s one of those pieces that works almost anywhere—on a console, bedside table, library table, or tucked into a gloriously maximalist mix of gilt, books, art, and antiques. And yes, I’m especially fond of it surrounded by all the things. 😉

Vintage Ralph Lauren

A classic for a reason. 💙

A fantastic example of wonderfully unapologetic excess of antique majolica.

This late-19th-century covered serving dish is a fabulous example of trompe-l’œil, where clay was molded and glazed to transform an everyday object into an almost three-dimensional still life. Fruit spills across the lid among twisting vines, leaves and branches, all drenched in those saturated majolica colors.

And the fruit itself has a story.

In Chinese decorative tradition, fruits carried wishes and auspicious meanings—peaches for longevity, pomegranates for abundance and descendants, and citron for happiness and good fortune. Those motifs were part of the rich decorative vocabulary that fascinated the West during the great enthusiasm for chinoiserie.

Then you lift the lid…

Four divided serving compartments appear in the most glorious turquoise blue. And look all the way down—even the tiny feet have been molded into the design.

Because apparently the Victorians believed that if something was worth making, every inch of it was worth making beautiful.

I have two of these antique beauties, each slightly different, and I can’t decide what I love more—the symbolism, the craftsmanship, or that absolute pocketful of rainbows in the glazing. 🌈

This is why antique majolica is so much more than colorful pottery.

At first glance, it’s pure Victorian exuberance—a fabulous antique trompe-l’œil majolica covered serving dish, modeled as a lush still life of fruits, leaves, vines and branches in those wonderfully saturated glazes.

But there’s another layer to all that fruit.

In Chinese decorative tradition, fruits have carried auspicious meanings for centuries: peaches for longevity, pomegranates for abundance and many descendants, and citron for happiness, blessings and good fortune. These symbolic motifs became part of the decorative vocabulary that so fascinated the West and influenced the layered world of chinoiserie.

And then there’s the function.

Lift that gloriously over-the-top lid and you find four divided serving compartments glazed in brilliant turquoise blue. Even the feet are sculpturally molded—because apparently the Victorians saw no reason to stop decorating at the bottom.

I have two of these antique beauties, each slightly different, and they are fantastic displayed closed, open on a sideboard, or actually put to work on a beautifully collected table.
