My son may just be the only kid in the world to receive VHS tapes for his birthday this year.

I'm not a fan of modern programming, so a couple years ago I got my kids a VCR player and it has been an absolute nostalgic blast.

P.s. I'd send the rebate in, but it expired on May 31st, 1998.

Days like today, I'm extra proud to be American. To reflect on the bravery of our military and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice legitimately gives me chills.

I'm trying to raise my kids to have the same courage, bravery, faith, and patriotism that those men and women had.

I'm also grateful to have the parents I have who raised me and my siblings to be patriotic as well. My Mom took these photos of my Dad this morning as well as the rest of the Texas Patriot Guard. Together, they placed flags on every single headstone.

Today is a day to remember but to also enjoy the freedoms they fought for. Hoping everyone has a safe and fun-filled Memorial Day!

Can we start something together? Let's call it "Sourdough Saturday" where we share what we baked this week?

I'm trying to do my best at balancing everything in my life right now. The days just go by too fast. I'm scared that I'm missing out on precious time with my kids, and maybe you feel that way too?

We can start holding each other accountable by sharing what we baked- forcing ourselves to slow down and live in the moment (and enjoy homemade goodies in the meantime). Baking just has a way of forcing you to slow down. Maybe we could share recipes even!
