Welcome to our journey!
This very unexpected journey began in June of 2018 when my wife Amy and I decided to buy a house. We didn't want to move outdated furniture to the new home so we started looking at furniture at the local furniture stores. Everything was so expensive and just didn't have the look we wanted so I thought about redoing some of our furniture myself. Going into it, I just knew it was going to turn into a complete disaster but shockingly enough, it turned out looking pretty good! That's when Amy started throwing project after project at me! Each time, after completion; I would look at it and think... Holy crap! I may have found something that I'm actually good at!!
One day my dad came over as we were preparing to move and saw the furniture that I refinished and said "wow son, this stuff looks great! You could make some money doing this!" Now, anyone who knows my dad, knows that's not something that would normally come out of his mouth. When he said that; I thought... if my dad says that, then maybe I should give it a try! I started with small items and began refinishing them to sell. As it turns out; not only did I seem to find something that I'm good at but I also found something that I really enjoy! Could all of these years of having a mother who has great decorating taste and who has always kept a house that looks as if it belonged in a magazine begin to payoff for me?? Could the childhood years of going to visit my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins who lived on a farm that was full of farmhouse decor (which I loved) also begin to payoff??
I then started buying furniture to refinish and began selling them. I could not believe the feedback I was getting from my work! Every compliment made me feel like a million bucks! People then started bringing me their furniture to refinish and sometimes going out and buying furniture to bring to me. I have loved every minute of it! I enjoy the interaction with people but the biggest thrill is seeing how happy they are when they pick up their finished furniture.
