Vanilla Layer Cake with Dulce de Leche Filling
Description

A soft and fluffy vanilla sponge cake layered with creamy whipped frosting and rich dulce de leche filling. Perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or any special dessert table.

Ingredients
For the Cake Batter
4 large eggs
1 ½ cups sugar
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the Filling
2 cups dulce de leche
For the Frosting
2 cups heavy whipping cream
4 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Decoration
Colorful sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Batter
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and flour two round cake pans.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the flour and salt.
Fold in the baking powder gently.
Step 2 – Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cakes cool completely.
Step 3 – Make the Frosting
In a cold bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
Continue whipping until firm peaks form.
Step 4 – Assemble the Cake
Slice each cake layer horizontally to create multiple layers.
Spread whipped cream frosting over each layer.
Add a generous layer of dulce de leche.
Repeat until all layers are stacked.
Step 5 – Decorate
Cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
Pipe decorative swirls on top.
Add colorful sprinkles if desired.
Baking Time
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Baking Time: 35–40 minutes
Total Time: About 1 hour 15 minutes
Tips
Chill the cake before slicing for cleaner layers.
Use cold heavy cream for a thicker frosting.
You can replace dulce de leche with caramel or chocolate filling.
