A sophisticated home doesn’t have to be a serious one.

Some of the most memorable style, in fashion and in design, holds opposites in balance: polish and playfulness, glamour and ease. This couple wanted exactly that, a home that felt youthful, sexy, and warm within fresh contemporary architecture, and that could keep up with two young kids and their slobbery bulldogs.

Crisp white walls and bold black accents set the stage, and color carries the story from room to room: a hand-painted abstract botanical wallcovering, traced in gold, beneath a cluster of hand-blown glass pendants in the dining room; bright blue in the breakfast nook and kitchen; soft blush in the primary suite; and a black-and-white tiled bar on the loggia, with the mountains beyond.

Performance fabrics meet couture-level craftsmanship, so every room is made to snuggle in style.

Glamorous and comfortable. Your home can be both.

When I decorate and accessorize a home, I want it to feel collected and personalized — never like it stepped out of a beautiful catalogue, which can feel soulless. KIER DESIGN INTERIORS and Elizabeth Lamont are two local resources in Pacific Palisades where I can always find something unique. I’m delighted they reopened after last year’s fire.
