My art may appear to include energetic brushwork, from landscapes to abstract art, I strives to create beautiful colors and capture the light perfectly in every painting. I was taught to sketch many years ago in high school and I went to Fashion Institute of Des
ign and Merchandising where I learned how to draw figurers and fashion, but never painted. But my life went in a different direction and I became a hairstylist. I love to design hairstyles, and still feel it’s a form of art. I opened my own salon in 1986 and my salon was like my art studio. I called it Dysonna Hair Studio and all the stations were art easels and we had paintings on the wall. That’s when I began my business of art. I loved art so I went in another direction where I published Dysonna magazine for 11 years while running my hair studio. I designed the magazine and photographed models for my fashion pages and actors for editorial and just had a lots of fun publishing the National Magazine. After moving on, but still running my studio, I opened Dysonna City Art Gallery 4 years ago on the 1st floor and moved my hair studio in my loft area. I took a few classes from great artists, plein air and life painters and some of our paint classes with artist, Virginia Viera. From there on, the rest is history. This is my second year and second solo art exhibit in my own gallery.
