Sweet Balsamic Marinated Steak
🥩 Juicy, tender steak with a bold, tangy-sweet glaze that hits every note just right.
Ingredients (Recap):
🔥 For the Steak:
12 oz steak (your favorite cut—ribeye, sirloin, or strip works great)
🌿 For the Marinade:
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 sprigs rosemary, minced
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/3 tsp red pepper (for a subtle kick)
🔥 Directions:
1️⃣ Mix the Marinade
Start by finely mincing the garlic and rosemary. In a bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, and olive oil. Stir in the garlic, rosemary, and all the seasonings until well combined.
2️⃣ Marinate the Steak
Place the steak in a large zip-lock bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over it, seal it up, and move it around to make sure the steak is fully coated. Pop it in the fridge and let it soak up those flavors for at least 6 hours.
3️⃣ Prep for Cooking
When you're ready to cook, remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels—this helps it sear beautifully without steaming.
4️⃣ Sear to Perfection
Heat a splash of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook to your preferred doneness—about 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Look for a nice crispy edge and juicy center.
5️⃣ Serve It Up
Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad—and don’t forget a drizzle of those leftover pan juices!
