Trends for 2017
Even though I am not a trend follower because I think your home should be a reflection of what you like ....what makes you feel at home,
It is interesting to be aware of what you will be seeing in catalogs and stores for fabrics, furniture,and paint colors.
Sherwin Williams sees greys and Taupes-bold and warmer neutrals as well as greens, blues and yellows.The hues seem to be darker and more saturated and vibrant. See their " Poised Taupe"," Urbane Bronze", and Sealskin.
The color marketing group sees greens in as the hot color in various shades. We have a desire for health and green is a healthy color. You will be seeing Green kitchen accessories.
Pantone's color of the year is " Greenery"
For metal finishes, watch for copper and gold in both matte and polished finishes
Benjamin Moore says colors are shifting toward deeper and warmer hues- Deep violets in particular. Their color of the year is Shadow # 2117-30. It pairs with many other hues and can be used in traditional or
modern interiors.
Grays continue to be popular for upholstered items and white kitchen cabinets will always be in style.Wood tones will vary from light ot dark with even a combination of the two.Watch for texture in wood tones exposing the raw nature of the wood.Due to the open concept now seen in homes, kitchens tend to be more luxurious in their palettte and style.
Nature and health have a big influence on this years color trends. Contemporary and Transitional styles are emerging as more popular than traditional.
Basically grays are expanding in popularity, whites are ever popular,
and brighter colors bring a joyful feeling into your environment.
