Accidental journal entry below!

The current phase/season/era I’m in isn’t one where I’m “producing” a ton of art. There is a lot of great things happening; I am engaged! I have gotten to travel this year, I’ve survived my 10th summer reading in youth services at a public library, I’m in my final year of grad school, and I get to be a part of the opening of a remodeled library branch later this fall.

Yet the inner critic demon girl boss is sCrEaMing WELL U DONT GO IN THE CLAY STUDIO enough GUESS YOU DONT CARE enough to even put in any effort.

So to quell my inner demon girl boss, I want to instead focus on three things this year that made me really happy.

1. I made a book fairy riding a frog and a coffee filter flower and she watched over the library throughout summer reading.
2. I drew sunflowers on a tote bag for a teen art craft sample. It was simple and fun.
3. I painted a duck in the dead of winter. That’s it.

There will be more art making and even a market or two later this year but I am making this post for me to remember art is about joy.
