Luxury is not simply a price point. A room feels elevated when scale, proportion, color, texture, lighting and function work together. My room-refresh process begins with space planning and builds toward a cohesive mood board, 3D concept, furnishings and accessories selected specifically for the home.

Plans tell us where things go — but how do you know how it will all feel together?

That's what a rendering shows you. During a remodel or new build, I use 3D visualization to communicate cabinetry, materials, lighting, color, and spatial relationships before those decisions become expensive to change. It also gives contractors and builders a clearer picture of the design intent.

One of our dining room designs, featuring the stunning Cairn Linear LED Pendant, was featured on Hubbardton Forge own website! This statement piece brought bold, eccentric glam to a space that started as a neutral, functional room with so much untapped potential.

Why does furniture that looked perfect online overwhelm your room in person? Scale is usually the culprit.

Furniture scale is one of the easiest things to get wrong when shopping online. A sofa may look perfect on a website and overwhelm your room once it arrives. I create scaled space plans using the actual dimensions of your room and furniture so we can make smarter selections before ordering.

What does a good color palette actually connect? More than just paint.

I look at existing finishes, natural light, furniture that's staying, textiles, artwork, and how adjoining rooms relate to the space. From there, I create a cohesive direction that guides the furniture and accessory selections. If you want a polished room refresh instead of buying pieces one at a time, I offer color palettes, mood boards, space plans, and 3D renderings throughout Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Indiana, and the Tri-State area.

What makes a remodel go smoothly? Clear roles from the start.

The contractor manages construction means and methods. As the interior designer, I develop and document the design vision — layouts, selections, elevations, renderings, and details — and help communicate those decisions throughout the project. The homeowner benefits when everyone understands their role and works from the same information.

Inspiration can come from anywhere—and today it came from right here in Cincinnati!

I’m always looking at design from around the world for new ideas, and this feature from Milk on Cincinnati’s Fidelity Hotel immediately caught my attention.

I’m a little obsessed with the mix of color, pattern, texture, old and new throughout the hotel. I especially love hotels that feel more like a beautifully layered boutique apartment than a traditional commercial space. It’s also a great reminder that commercial materials don’t have to feel sterile or predictable. They can be durable and functional while still being playful, sophisticated, warm, and comfortable.

Bravo to the designers who brought old and new together in a way that feels distinctive, collected, and welcoming for guests.

And yes… I’m definitely filing away a few ideas for future inspiration. 😉

Bought all the right pieces but the room still feels off? The problem is probably the layout, not the decor.

Furniture scale, spacing, traffic flow, and focal points can completely change how a room feels. I use professional space planning to solve those issues first, then layer in color, furniture, and accessories.

Is a mood board just pretty pictures? Not when it's doing its real job.

A mood board establishes the direction for color, texture, materials, furniture, and the overall feeling of a room before we start purchasing. Combined with a scaled space plan and 3D rendering, it becomes part of a much larger design roadmap. If your Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, or Indiana home needs a room refresh, this is one of the ways I help turn scattered ideas into a cohesive design.
