Happy Thursday! We come to you with this post to bring some information to light and share details about what has been going on behind the scenes with The Bloom Bar.
We purchased a new building with the intention of renovating it. What looks like a building that just needs a quick facelift, this space needs everything- a new roof, new electrical, structural work, water and fire damage repairs, and more. Due to these factors and many more, we have decided not to move forward with the project.
This decision unlocked a door to an even more difficult conversation: the future of The Bloom Bar. As seen on social media, being a florist has many perks: helping to memorialize family members during times of loss, being asked to do the honor of arranging wedding florals, and so much more. What isn’t seen on social media is the countless days spent worrying about the longevity of product, purchasing product over 3 months before a holiday for pre-book, ensuring every detail has been considered and executed perfectly on wedding days, and more. Additionally, I’ve been fighting chronic full-body hives for months due to extreme stress. I had to take a step back, look at my business, and decide what to do with it. After lots of back-and-forth, I have made the difficult decision to close The Bloom Bar.
What does this mean now? This means that existing orders will be filled- including weddings, daily arrangements, wraps, etc. However, I will not be accepting any new orders. We can still be reached via phone call, text, and private messages with any plant care questions, we just won’t be taking new orders.
This is disappointing and difficult news to decide and to share. I will always be grateful for you- the community and everyone who has supported my business no matter what role you played in it. Thank you so much.
At this point, I’m not sure the level at which I’ll continue to arrange flowers. What I love most about being a florist is weddings and special events. I’d love to continue providing those services, but need to figure out my next professional step before taking new clients. Please stay tuned for an update regarding future wedding availability!
