Here’s a touch of joinery on a bigger scale than my usual. Wood is rough-sawn Hemlock. This roof was built to deflect snow and ice as it falls from the large upper roof on this commercial building. Walls will also be covered in steel.

Sometimes you‘ve just gotta make it yourself. My fairly new work trailer was in DESPERATE need of some organization. I built these drawer units to be utilized both on the trailer and in customers’ homes. Of course, that means they can’t be permanently secured to the wall, so a custom temporary restraint mechanism was required. The trailer is far from finished, but this a step in the right direction.

And here is the finished product (minus the drawer k***s). Meet the kitchen island with a slide-out table. I’m really liking this concept. Thanks goes to the customer for trusting me to bring this idea to life.

This kitchen job will be finished in two stages. The lowers were installed first in order to produce a functional kitchen for the customer. The upper cabinets and island will be built and installed separately. Cabinets are Cherry, countertops are Acacia.

Cabinet doors are coming along. It’s hard to beat the natural tone of Cherry in my book.

The kids think I actually make money when I work in the wood shop. In reality, I just build things that I can crawl inside of to hide from them.

(I jest, obviously. My children are wonderful blessings from the Lord that I truly don’t appreciate enough.)

This custom-built monstrous upper cabinet will be installed in a laundry room above a washer/dryer unit.
