Heyyy hive 🍯!!
I hope you have all been having a good week. For me, not so much. The s**t just keeps piling on. Something happened the other day that triggered my CPTSD and I’ve just been in survival mode. Between that and moving at the end of the month, I have been super overwhelmed and have been struggling. But with hard work and therapy I will get through it, I always do. Any good vibes you can send my way would be greatly appreciated 🤍 and yes, you read that right, we found an apt and will be moving at the end of the month! I absolutely despise moving. I have moved 16 times in my 39 years and to say I am over it is an understatement. My life is about to be all about separating things into DONATE/TRASH/SELL piles and packing. Then comes stressing about people showing up to help (shoutout to my friends and family who have helped me move a zillion times), changing over various services, and updating addresses everywhere. Another thing that sucks about moving is it is a big reminder that my Dad is no longer with us. He was the rock of our family. He was always the first one to show up, dolly in tow. He always knew the best order to pack things in the truck and was there to talk me back down to earth when i would inevitably break down and have an anxiety attack.
On top of all of this, August is my Dad’s month. He was born on the 21st and he left his physical vessel on the 25th. So suffice it to say, I have a lot of s**t going on rn. But again, I’ll get through it, because I’m strong af. And if he was still here, that’s what my Dad would tell me. He would give me a forehead smooch, tell me he’s proud of me and give me the world’s best, most comforting hug 🫂 . ((Seriously guys, the best hugger ever.)) He would also tell me to focus on what I can control, try to find the positives and avoid getting so consumed with the possibility of things going sideways. So that’s what I’m gonna do. When I feel consumed with stress and worry that things are going to go wrong, I’m going to do my best to channel my Daddio. There are some things I’m really looking forward to, like decorating a new place (the walls aren’t made of lathe so hanging things will be easy!!🙌🏻) finding new homes for my collectibles, having more than one closet, having a FUNCTIONAL bedroom closet that isn’t long as hell with a tiny door which results in not being able to see half my clothes, more kitchen cabinets AAAAND we will be saving on our heating bill! Now that I just typed those things out, it seems there are more positives than negatives. So while my mental health is a mess and I don’t have the time, motivation and energy to crochet, I have some good stuff on the horizon.
I’m going to try to post when I can over the next few weeks but I might be more quiet than usual. If you’ve read this far please know that I love you and I appreciate you (unless you’re MAGA in which case, fùck you).
Photo tax: my most favorite blanket I’ve made. I started it around 2013 and still haven’t finished it (shocking I know 😜). Maybe once we get settled into the new place I’ll actually add a border and weave in the ends 🤞🏻.
