Old Hooks New Stitches This is a small business that is owned & operated by Sara & Tim Gilmore. Initially it was crocheting, then cross stitch & embroidery. and start knitting.

It all started with a hook...

At an early age, my grandmother instilled the love of crafting in me. As she cared for me while my mother was at work, she taught me different ways of creating items. As I grew older, she taught me how to sew from basic patterns we would obtain from the local craft store and eventually she taught me how to knit. It seemed that with knitting, I excelled and found a wo

nderful passion. I remembered how I felt when I received something homemade from a family member and wanted to have the opportunity to pass that feeling on to someone else. So after I would get off from my day job, I would head home, have a cat on both sides of me, Netflix/Hulu going on the T.V. Finally I amassed an amount of courage and opened up my shop whose name was created by my grandmother. I'm very happy to say that I've many supporters throughout my family, friends, and co-workers. I'm constantly pushing myself to add new pieces and always happy to take suggestions. Every day is a learning experience for me, which means I'm always striving to improve.
