Sometimes building something new starts with something as simple as cleaning up the space around you.

This garage has slowly become a little bit of everything—storage, projects, tools, horse stuff…you name it. 😂

And I’ve realized that when my workspace is cluttered, my mind feels cluttered too. I have a harder time being creative and actually getting things done.

So today I’m making room.

Room to braid.
Room to create.
Room to dream.
And room to build the things I’ve been talking about for so long.

This is what building Hi-Line Designs really looks like behind the scenes—not always pretty, not always organized, but one little step at a time.

And honestly, I think this clean space might be one of the most important steps yet. 🤎

Do you find that you create better when your space is clean and organized too?

I can still remember watching my dad braid a headstall on one of our family pack trips into the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

We had an equipment malfunction, and while I probably would have been thinking, “Well, now what do we do?” my dad just sat down and started braiding.

I remember thinking, How cool is it that he can just make what we need right here?

This was just one of many times I watched my dad braid something amazing and thought, Wow. I want to be able to do that.

I didn’t realize then how much that skill would become a part of my own story.

Horses have always been a part of who I am and how I grew up. And because my dad shared that love of horses—and was willing to teach me—I was able to learn a skill that eventually became Hi-Line Designs.

What started with watching my dad braid around campfires and on pack trips has grown into something I get to create with my own hands today.

And honestly, I think that makes every piece I make a little more special. 🤎🐴

This is more than just braiding. It’s a piece of where I come from.

A little dream has officially become a reality.

What started with a love for horses and creating tack for my own animals has grown into something I never imagined. Every rein, halter, and piece of tack is handmade by me with durability, quality, and a little western style in mind.

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to finally open my Etsy shop and share my work with all of you.

If you’d like to support my small business, I’d be so grateful if you’d take a look, favorite the shop, or share it with a fellow horse lover. Every bit of support means more than you know.
