This one has truly been a labor of love, it’s a little bittersweet to see her finished. 🖤✨

Months of designing, sourcing, hunting for the perfect pieces, refinishing, customizing, rearranging and obsessing over every. single. detail. brought this office to life.

We color-drenched the space and created a multidimensional gallery wrapping three walls, layering art, unique finds, rock & roll influences and eclectic 3D elements that bring the walls to life, with the coolest unexpected pieces tucked in everywhere. And it isn’t just beautiful, we built functionality right into the design with storage and displays for the jewelry she creates in this space.

The goal was to make completely different pieces feel collected, intentional and like they belonged together. Moody academia meets feminine eclectic with a little luxury goth and rock & roll mixed in.

There is SO much detail in this room, you really have to zoom in to take it all in. We’re still hunting for the perfect chair, but sometimes the right pieces take time to find, and this room deserves the right one.

Make sure you check out the BEFORE pictures at the end because the transformation is INSANE. 🤯

The details deserve their moment too.

Sometimes it’s the textures, lighting, and little collected pieces that quietly bring a house to life.

There’s something so rewarding about watching a house become a home.

What started as a vision is now a space that feels warm, inviting, and completely transformed. Every room was designed to feel personal, with thoughtful layers and carefully chosen details that reflect my client’s style and make this house truly feel like home.

The finishing touches are always one of my favorite parts. They’re often the smallest details, but they’re what make a house feel like home. Some of my favorite pieces in this project came from Vintage Vibe Texas. They always have such a great selection of unique decor.

We’re almost to the finish line! The only thing left is two custom leather host chairs currently being made for the dining room, and I already know they’re going to be the perfect finishing touch. I’ll make sure to share the space once it’s complete.

Now swipe to see where it all began. 🤎

Gallery walls are one of my favorite things to design because no two are ever the same.

While they may look effortless when they’re finished, so much thought goes into them long before a single nail ever goes into the wall. Every frame is measured, every photo is accounted for, and the entire layout is planned out beforehand. Then comes the rearranging, tweaking, and fine-tuning until the balance, spacing, and flow feel just right.

By install day, every detail has already been worked through. The paper templates may make it look a little chaotic, but they’re what allow the final installation to come together exactly as envisioned.

And of course, a huge shoutout to my husband Zackery Nixon for being the best gallery wall assistant. He handles the hanging while I stand back and give very specific directions. 😂

Install week is honestly one of the most rewarding parts of this entire process.

Starting with nothing but ideas, then building out the vision through sourcing, design concepts, and renderings… and finally getting to watch it all slowly come to life in real time never stops being so exciting to me.

All the behind-the-scenes prep work has been done. Furniture and decor are on site, everything is unpackaged, furniture assembled, paint has dried, lighting is hung, and everything moved into place so tomorrow I can bring it all to life.

Stay tuned for the before and after on this foyer, living room, kitchen, and dining transformation. I already know this one is going to be a favorite.

This office started as a sterile, industrial feeling space with concrete floors, blank walls, and little personality, but the goal was to completely shift the feeling the moment someone walked through the door. We wanted it to feel warm, welcoming, elevated, and reflective of the heart behind the company.

The focal point of the entire design became this oversized custom gallery wall showcasing years of beautiful remodels their company has brought to life. Mixing frame tones, sizes, textures, and imagery brought so much depth and character into the space and completely transformed the overall feel of the office.

This one is proof that even the most builder-basic spaces can completely transform with the right layers, warmth, and attention to detail.

Here is a little sneak peek at an office transformation currently underway.

Today we officially started paint. The contrast between the original color and this deep moody green already has me so excited for where this space is headed.

Trust me, you're going to want to follow this one through to the end. 👀

A lot of times, clients don’t actually need a complete redesign. They just need someone to help connect all the pieces and bring the vision together.

This client came to me because she had completely hit a creative wall with her master bedroom. The rest of her home was already beautifully decorated, but this space just never felt finished or fully pulled together to her.

The best part is, she already had so many great foundation pieces to work with. Instead of starting over, we focused on layering in warmth, texture, and softer romantic touches that worked with the existing furniture and wallpaper to make the room finally feel cohesive and intentional.

Honestly, these kinds of transformations are some of my favorites because it’s not about replacing everything, it’s about knowing how to bring a space to life with the right details.

Up next… her office makeover, which is already in progress. Completely transforming the space and taking it in a bold, dramatic direction. It’s going to be SO good. 👀🖤

Hi, I’m Katelyn, the owner and creative behind Katelyn Nixon Designs. 🤍

First and foremost, I’m a daughter of Christ. I am married to my high school sweetheart and best friend of 20 years, and together we are raising four incredible young men. My faith and my family are the foundation of everything I do, and they shape the heart behind both my life and my business.

I’m a Texas-based interior decorator and creative specializing in homes, spaces, and events that feel intentional, personal, and deeply lived in. My approach to design is a little different than most because I don’t believe a home should feel like a showroom or a copy of someone else’s style. I believe it should reflect the people living inside it.

For me, design is about more than making a space look beautiful. It’s about creating environments that feel warm, welcoming, meaningful, and aligned with the people who gather there every day. Spaces where memories are made, conversations are shared, and life unfolds naturally.

That’s why I take such a personalized approach with every client. I spend time understanding not just what you like visually, but how you want your space to feel. The goal is never to force a signature style onto your home, but to create something layered, elevated, timeless, and uniquely yours.

Whether I’m designing a full home, refreshing a single space, styling for the holidays, or creating for a special event, my heart is always the same: to create spaces that feel thoughtful, beautiful, and full of life.

More than anything, I hope this business reflects God’s goodness, creativity, and faithfulness through the my work. I’m incredibly grateful for every client who trusts me with their vision and allows me to be part of the spaces that matter most to them.

I’m so glad you’re here! ❤️
