Kildeer birds have an interesting protective behavior in regards to their nests - when the eggs are in danger, the parents draw the intruder away by pretending that they are injured. They drag themselves on the ground & flap their wings like they're hurt.

These poor parents put their nest along the edge of our vineyard, so anytime we have work on the vines, they get so upset. They are perfectionists in disguising nests, so we marked it with boulders to insure that we don't accidently step on the eggs while working. The nest has been there for about 3 weeks, so they will hatch soon. Can't wait

Repurpose an old wood cutting board, clamp a mason jar to it, Add a hanger then just add flowers!

It's Peony Season - yippee!! Just delivered a big ole' bucket of beauty to M & W Market, with more to follow. It's gonna be a fast season, but a good one
