Piece 1: Kantha
September marks the transition into early autumn ā Sharat Ritu ā when the monsoon begins to retreat but water still remains part of the landscape.
For this piece, Iām drawing inspiration from:
š¾ Kash grass
ć°ļø gentle river ripples
š§µ the rhythmic running stitch of traditional Kantha work
Instead of filling the entire panel, I want the stitches to create movement ā almost like the surface of quiet water ā with soft grasses appearing along the edges.
The idea is simple: water after the rain, movement without chaos, and the first hint that the season is changing.
Next comes choosing exactly which blues, greens and neutrals will bring it to life.
