Our client would have loved a stained tabletop, but since the top is laminate, stain wasn’t an option. Instead, she chose SW Manor House for the table and chair frames, paired with Minwax Mocha on the wood chair seats. 🤎

We love how this combo brought new life to this sweet little set!

Sometimes a piece doesn’t need a complete transformation. It just needs a little facelift!

This solid oak table had great bones, so we refreshed the finish, brought that beautiful wood grain back to life, and gave it a warmer, updated look. 🤎

And sometimes we get so excited to get started that we forget our own before pictures. 🤦‍♀️ Thankfully, our client had us covered!

A simple refresh made a BIG difference on this one. 🦊

✨ CLIENT CUSTOMIZATION ✨

The mission for this piece was to lighten it up while keeping the beauty of the natural wood.

Once we stripped it down, we discovered the top and base were different woods, with the top pulling a strong red hue. We worked a little magic with a tan wash and a hint of green to neutralize the red and bring everything together.

The outcome is a beautiful warm wood tone that feels lighter, more natural, and still lets all those gorgeous details shine through. 🤎

🦊 A little Salty Fox family news!

Apparently we really like giving old things new life. 😂

We had so much fun putting together our first Airbnb that we decided to do it again! We’re excited to introduce The Salty Fox Den, our newest stay in McLeansboro.

This little house got the Salty Fox treatment and is officially ready for guests!

✨ CLIENT CUSTOMIZATION ✨

These shelving units came to us with quite a bit of water damage along the bottoms. And because they’re made from pressed wood, water damage can get ugly fast!

But they were still solid enough to save, so we got to work. 🦊

We cut out the damaged and swollen areas, rebuilt and filled them with Bondo, sanded everything smooth, and gave both units a fresh coat of black paint.

What started out chipped, swollen, and peeling now has a clean, modern look—and plenty of life left in it.

Sometimes a piece doesn’t need replaced. It just needs a little Salty Fox. 🖤🦊

✨ CLIENT CUSTOMIZATION ✨

This piece was already pretty cool to begin with, but she was ready for a facelift!

The hardware gave us a little trouble. The existing drawer pull holes were all different sizes and spacing, and with those wavy drawers, we couldn’t find pulls that would work. So each hole got its own k**b. 😂 Not normally how we like to do things, but thankfully our customer was so sweet and understanding!

And, of course, Laci says it looks like it has udders now… and I can’t unsee it. 🤣🐄

Another old piece refreshed while keeping all that vintage character we love. 🦊❤️

✨Client Customization✨

One of the most rewarding parts of what we do is helping our clients keep pieces that already mean something to them.

This chair came to us with multiple layers of bright red paint. Our client wasn’t attached to the color, just the chair itself. The plan was simple: if we could successfully strip it, we’d stain it. If not, we’d give it new life with a beautiful barnwood red finish.

After a lot of stripping, we discovered the original red paint had actually dyed the wood over the years. Because of that, a lighter stain wasn’t possible, so we chose a richer, darker stain that complemented the wood’s character instead of fighting it.

Every piece has a story, and sometimes the wood tells us what it wants to be.
