Instead of a permanent mounted screen they decided a remote retractable screen with hurricane strength was needed!

It keeps hurricanes and insects out!

Installing the bertha Hv 5 point locking accordion shutters. They provide an extra level of security with the locking rods.
The roll down shutters are used on larger openings where a electric motor is used to operate remotely.
Either way they are hurricane ready and make the home safer. They also comply with insurance requirements for impact ratings.

instead of using all impact windows on the 12 foot sliding doors on the patio they opted to use our hurricane screen which protects the entire porch for impact protection and meets Florida building code.
The room is also actually insulated by the hurricane fabric being that it's 95% translucent. It also blocks out air from outside so you can actually have a comfortable climate controlled environment with these hurricane screens.

We just wrapped up this upgrade on a 7th floor condo, with a new pgt sliding impact door, and new electric roll shutters to keep the water out.
