She wore pants in public in 1919. 👖🇵🇷

They arrested her. She walked out of that courtroom and wore them again.

Luisa Capetillo was a labor organizer, playwright, anarchist, and feminist who spent her life fighting for workers, for women, and for the freedom to simply be herself. She was the first woman in Puerto Rico to wear pants in public — and that act of defiance was just one small chapter in a life of radical courage.

She organized to***co workers. She wrote plays about women's liberation. She believed that freedom wasn't something you waited to be given. You claimed it. You wore it. You walked out the door in it.

Most of us were never taught her name. That ends today. 🔥
