I know what you’re thinking…

“What’s special about this picture”? And the true answer? Nothing, really.

This is my modest, needs some updates, perfectly average kitchen as it is most days. With the toaster on the counter from making breakfast for my family, a vase from Valentine’s Day flowers that still needs to be put away, coffee pods by the sink from my morning brew of joy (unfortunately still decaf for now 😬), and the giant water jug that I am never without as I chase a busy one year old around the house all day.

So… why take a “nothing special” picture? Because this is what my kitchen looked like the other day as I was dancing with my son and I couldn’t help but have such overwhelming joy flood my heart. As the Alexa played the lyrics to Diamond Rio’s “Beautiful Mess” and I sang along with my son in my arms “what a beautiful mess, what a beautiful mess I’m in, spending all my time with you, there’s nothing else I’d rather do” I realized that in the noise of all the constant thoughts of needing to do more and be more I forgot that right now I am living in the midst of everything I prayed and waited so long for.

While I love helping others tell and share their stories, I forgot that these so incredibly special ordinary moments are also a chapter in mine and deserve to be remembered.

So, my friends, I hope today you can take a look at your kitchen that may or may not look something like mine, and remember that your story is happening NOW , and it matters ❤️

Hey there! 👋

It’s been a while, so allow me to reintroduce myself and catch you up on the last (almost) year!

I’m Nicole, the lady behind LegacyBook. This business was born from my immeasurable love of my family and wanting to have a way to preserve our most precious moments and memories while helping others do the same. I’m so glad you’re here and can’t wait to connect with you if we haven’t already!

This past year has been a whirlwind as evidenced by my lack of social media presence but I am beyond excited to be back helping you keep precious memories alive ❤️

A few life updates:

1. My beautiful baby boy was born! He just turned 9 months and is the most incredible blessing I’ve ever received…. He’s also glued to my hip so be prepared to see a lot of baby cuteness in my stories moving forward 😍
2. We moved! We moved back to the house we had been renting out for the previous 2 years and have been in project/repair mode for the last 3 months or so. The good news is we only have a few more years worth of updates to do 😆

Ya know, I’m realizing it doesn’t look like a lot when there’s only two items on the list but it definitely has been enough to flip our world upside down and keep us on our toes!

While I haven’t been active on social media, I’ve been busy dreaming up and planning new ways to serve you and your loved ones so stay tuned for some exciting updates and product launches coming soon!

In the meantime, thank you for being part of this community. Your support of this small business means the world and I’m so grateful for each and every one of you!

This morning as I sat and had my morning cup of coffee and devotional time I felt a rush of gratitude. Sure we all have struggles and things that we want, but do you ever stop and let yourself be amazed at all that you already have?

There are so many blessings that surround us each day and I’m a firm believer that choosing to view life through a lense of gratitude allows for a more abundant life than we could imagine, not by having more but by simply recognizing that what we have is enough.

So today, as we are all rushing around preparing for Thanksgiving celebrations tomorrow (and maybe even thinking ahead already to Black Friday shopping), I would love to challenge you to find a moment or two to pause and let yourself bask in gratefulness for the blessings in your life. I promise you won’t regret it 😉

Few things make me happier than decorating this tree every year…

At first glance it may look like any other Christmas tree but a closer look will reveal a scrapbook of humor, silliness, and joy throughout the years.

From mer-men to woolly mammoths and Hallmark collectibles purchased nearly 30 years out-of-date, this, my friends, is my pride and joy of the holiday season… my ugly ornament Christmas tree!

It started with a joke ornament I bought my mom 12 years ago and has turned into my favorite tradition. Every year I am thrilled to receive gifts of “special” ornaments to put on this tree knowing how much joy it brings to all who see it. My home is filled with happiness and laughter as I adorn this tree each year and recall the stories and excitement from my friends and family of how they scoured and found the perfect addition!

Most importantly, in a time of year where it’s so easy to get caught up in the ideal of “perfection” with everything from buying gifts to home decor, this tree serves as a reminder that the best memories often come from letting “perfection” go and embracing the simple joys that surround us already.

Happy Monday! I’m kicking off this week strong with a Christmas gift brainstorm session with my momma… she’s come up with some amazing gift ideas for the people on her list and I can’t wait to make them a reality!

Today I’m grateful for beautiful fall weather, a family that shares my sense of holiday spirit, and being able to have this type of one-on-one time with my amazing mama ❤️
