Same Girl. Different Swamp. 🩷🐊
I know I’ve been quiet lately.
The truth is, this has been one of the hardest seasons of my life. There are parts of my story I’m not ready to tell publicly yet. Maybe someday I will.
For now, I’ll say this: sometimes a marriage looks very different from the outside than it feels on the inside. Sometimes you spend years quietly surviving because surviving is what you know how to do.
And sometimes God brings you to a place where you realize surviving is no longer the same thing as living.
After many difficult years, my marriage is ending and a divorce is in progress.
At the same time, I’m running a business, selling our house, liquidating years of inventory, packing up a life, and trying to figure out where in the world I’m going to start over at 63.
Some mornings I’m hopeful. Others it’s, “Lord, exactly what are we doing here?”
But I see His hand. A door closing that needed to close. Unexpected kindness. Provision I didn’t see coming. A little more courage than I had yesterday.
I don’t know where home will be yet. I just know I want peace. A garden. Fruit trees and magnolias. Chickens. Room for Jed to run. A place that looks less like surviving and more like living.
And I believe God is already there. ❤️
Now…about Louisiana. 😂
I asked ChatGPT to put me somewhere I absolutely DO NOT belong.
“Where could I put you that would produce immediate regret?”
Not outdoors. I’d be happy.
Not a farm. I’d have chickens following me by lunchtime.
Not the woods. I’d be planting things.
But a Louisiana swamp surrounded by ALLIGATORS?! 💀🐊
NAILED IT.
Pink Hunter boots. Teacup in a death grip. Knees in full NOPE NOPE NOPE position.
And Jed calmly beside me while I scream:
“JED! GET YOUR BOUGIE ASS BACK IN THIS BOAT!” 😂😂😂
Apparently I’m brave enough to start my entire life over.
I just draw the line at being eaten by a dinosaur.
Same girl. Different swamp. 🩷🐊
